Revision Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is one of the most complicated procedures within facial plastic surgery. The nose is a complex organ and breathing problems are common. Many patients (65%) who come to see Dr. Younger have had one or more previous nose surgeries by other physicians- Some to correct breathing problems- Others to improve the cosmetic look. Sometimes the results do not meet the expectations that the patient has had.

Due to the large volume of rhinoplasties performed by Dr. Younger each year, you will be in expert hands when you want to revise your nose, either on the outside or on the inside. We just have one rule. Never, ever surgically alter a nose that has been operated on within the last year. It takes at least one year for things like swelling to settle. It may be that what you wanted to achieve as the outcome, but only if you give it some time.

At the Younger Facial Surgery Centre, we spend a lot of time discussing realistic expectations. Breathing problems and a perfectly pleasing nose are two different things that may not always be possible to fix simultaneously. If that is the case, Dr. Younger will discuss what your major goal with the operation is and give you valid, true feedback.

If you want to have a revision surgery, book an appointment and a future procedure could be discussed. However, Dr. Younger will only perform surgery at least one year after your initial surgery. He has your best interest in mind when he says N0 to more surgery before a year has elapsed.

International Lecture by Dr. Younger (Portland)

Dr. Younger participated in an international multi-disciplinary expert faculty of “The Portland Aging Face Course” from July 29th – July 31st, 2011. The course covered in depth contemporary management of the aging face. All aspects of this complex topic were discussed, from the fundamentals of surgical anatomy to the latest advancements in technique.

Enrolment for the Portland Aging Face Course was limited to facial plastic surgeons, otolaryngologists, plastic surgeons, and residents/fellows in these specialties. The course was accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. There were participants from United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

Dr. Younger lectured on Aesthetic Lip Surgery, Advancements in Facelift Surgery, and Contemporary Blepharoplasty Surgery.
