FAQ

At Younger Facial Surgery Centre in Vancouver, we strive to empower our patients with the information they need to make an informed decision. As such, we have compiled some frequently-asked questions from patients that you might find helpful. If you have a specific question not addressed here, please ask by contacting our clinic staff directly.

How long has Dr. Younger been practicing? And is he board certified?

Answer:

Dr. Younger is both American Board and Canadian Board Certified, with 30 years of experience.

Is there a fee for the consultation?

Answer:

Yes, the fee is $150. Computer imaging, which may be helpful for nose or chin consultations, may be included. If you proceed with surgery, the consultation fee will be applied to your surgery cost.

How long is the wait for a consultation?

Answer:

The wait time is usually 2-3 weeks for a consultation with Dr. Younger.

What is the cost for cosmetic surgery?

Answer:

Every surgery is different; many factors are involved when determining surgery fee. Your fee will be determined by the procedure(s) you want done, where the surgery will be performed (in hospital or in office); and the amount of time and extent of work involved.

Do you offer financing?

Answer:

Payment must be made four weeks prior to surgery. There are two companies that finance patients – Medicard and Travelers Financial. You can make arrangements through our office to apply for financing.

Is my procedure covered my MSP or Extended Health?

Answer:

We do not deal directly with any extended health plans. Because all plans are different, you will have to contact your care provider to find out what your policy insures. Some procedures are covered or partially covered by MSP.

How long will I be off from work?

Answer:

This depends on the procedure you are having. We’ll discuss this in detail at your consultation.

Where are the surgeries performed?

Answer:

Again, this depends on the type of procedure you are having. If it is a procedure that is done under a general anesthetic, then it would be performed at either Vancouver General Hospital or Mount St. Josephs Hospital. If you require a local anesthetic, then it may be performed on an out-patient basis at Vancouver General Hospital or in our office.

Is the surgery painful?

Answer:

With any surgery there will be discomfort, but this is easily controlled with medication.
