Non-Surgical Procedures

At Younger Facial Surgery Centre in Vancouver, BC, we offer a full range of rejuvenation options, including non-surgical procedures.

Advancements in cosmetic science and technology have made it possible to rejuvenate the face without surgery. Your options today include less invasive injectables, skincare products and other in-office treatments.

While non-surgical facial rejuvenation can be an alternative to plastic surgery, we can also use it in conjunction with surgical procedures. Some of the concerns we commonly treat with non-surgical procedures include wrinkles, volume loss, contour refinement, pigmentation and asymmetry. In addition to being a safe and convenient alternative to plastic surgery, these procedures are suitable for a wide range of patients, and some are reversible when needed.

Why Choose Non-Surgical Procedures?

Younger patients and those with early signs of aging are usually not candidates for facelifts and similar plastic surgery procedures. While they may have concerns they wish to address, they are not yet pronounced enough to warrant surgical intervention. In some patients with chronic health conditions, surgery is contraindicated. Non-surgical procedures are a great alternative that can help these patients achieve their cosmetic goals without the risks and downsides associated with surgery.

Non-surgical procedures also function well as complementary procedures. They can help us enhance and extend the results of your cosmetic surgery and create striking but natural results.

What Non-Surgical Procedures Are Available at Younger Facial Surgery Centre?

Botox® Cosmetic

Botox® Cosmetic is the gold standard in wrinkle reduction. A form of injectable medicine called a neuromodulator, Botox® works by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles to prevent facial movements that contribute to wrinkles. The results are usually visible for three to four months, and repeating treatment is necessary to maintain results. However, patients who regularly receive Botox® can enjoy its cumulative effect — meaning that, over time, they may need less Botox® to get the same results.

Botox® is injected directly into specific muscles of the face. Over the next two weeks, this prescription medicine gradually reduces the appearance of frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet and even neck folds. The result is fewer wrinkles, smoother skin and an overall softer appearance to the face that can last for several months.

To achieve natural-looking results, it’s important to have this treatment performed by a skilled and qualified provider. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Younger has gained a deep understanding of facial anatomy and knows how to deliver Vancouver Botox® injections to yield natural-looking results. He works with each patient to create a customized treatment plan to optimize results.

Botox® has been safely used for over two decades and is the most popular wrinkle relaxer on the market. Side effects are minimal and complications are rare.

Restylane®

Restylane® falls in a category of injectables called dermal fillers. Unlike neuromodulators, which reduce wrinkles by blocking nerve signals to prevent muscle movement, dermal fillers work by adding volume. It can work on wrinkles in areas where Botox® isn’t used — such as nasolabial folds, smile lines and marionette lines.

The active ingredient in this injectable is hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in your skin. Hyaluronic acid binds to water, giving skin a plump and dewy look. When hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are injected into the skin, they replace some of the volume lost due to natural aging and sun damage.

Besides filling in wrinkles, we can also use Restylane® to enhance the lips, sculpt the cheeks or jawline, or perform a nonsurgical rhinoplasty. Depending on the formula and area treated, the effects of Restylane® can last up to eight months. When needed or desired, we can reverse this treatment with a quick injection of hyaluronidase.

Working closely with his patients, Dr. Younger makes sure to take each individual’s unique anatomy and aesthetic goals into account. He often combines dermal fillers with Botox® to treat both the upper and lower face for global facial rejuvenation.

Benign Skin Growth Removal

Many people have some kind of skin growth on their face and neck area, especially as they get older. The most common skin growths we see in our practice are cysts, moles, warts, skin tags, seborrheic keratoses, lipomas and keloid scars.

Luckily, most of these skin concerns are benign and rarely require treatment. However, they can be unsightly and affect your appearance and self-esteem. Dr. Younger can remove a wide range of common skin growths with simple, in-office procedures with minimal risk of scarring and complications.

At Younger Facial Surgery Centre in Vancouver, BC, you can have your benign skin growth treated with shave excisions, steroid injections and dermal filler injections. However, in some cases, a minor procedure called a surgical excision may be required.
